I accidentally closed your blog because your link does not open up a preview of your data, and I'm sure as hell not taking the time to download it... No offence. Sounds like your interview subject will be interesting to talk to and your lead was precise about what your story is supposed to be about.

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a pretty straight forward story. What other sort of surprising and interesting details could you add to facilitate reader interest in your story? I mean, I love hot dogs, so I definitely would be interested but I think there needs to be a larger implication that makes your story relevant!
Just a thought.
Stuart,
ReplyDeleteVij is an interesting choice to interview, I'm sure he'll give you some good insight. Might also be interesting to speak with a hot dog vendor to try to understand the draw of hot dogs as a food cart vendor.
Hi Stuart, this lead sounds good but I think it would benefit if you include why this story is interesting, like if the reason for the hot dog stands to be booming is due to peoples rush to get faster food in Vancouver. Also, although Vij will surely give you great information about this kind of business, I think it would be really interesting if you interview people buying from the food trucks to figure out why they choose a certain one in particular.
ReplyDeleteVij is celebrity chef and was recently on Shark Tank a couple episodes ago, so if you are able to interview him I'd be really impressed. I think you need a back up interview though. I like the idea of the story, but you need to lay out to readers why they should read your article, why they should care. I just don't see that yet. Keep on working hard though!!!
ReplyDeleteThe story itself is interesting, but the lead does nothing to draw me in. Focus less on the hot dog, and emphasis how Vancouverites have a demand for more varities from their food carts.
ReplyDeleteAs a fan of hot dogs this story appeals to me. I think this can make a quirky little story but it will take a lot of skill to keep it interesting for the entire word count. Good luck on your project though!
